Azaan was born in Dehradun on the 11th of december, 1988. His early years were spent growing up in a family of music and musicians. His father Ustaad Shujaat Khan is today one of the most sought after musicians of our time.

In the past couple of years, Azaan has found different facets to his musical creativity. He has started writing his own lyrics, he composes all his music and he sings and plays the guitar in all his compositions, the uniqueness being that he is actually comfortable doing all this in western and Indian music.

The third edition of the Amarrass Music Festival takes place 21-22 November, 2014 in New Delhi, India at Lodi-The Garden Restaurant. India's most eclectic world music festival presents national treasures, unknown voices and explores the boundaries of collaboration. This year's line-up brings together artists from Mali/West Africa, the United States, Palestine, Colombia, Brazil, and India to showcase new, cross-cultural collaborations on each night of festival. Programming will also include audio-visual presentations and workshops by the artists, an instrument petting zoo, and instrument makers. An open-air stage, a sampling of world-class food and beverages, amenities such as valet parking and close proximity to the Metro line, and music, sweet music in the garden!

Lodi - The Garden Restaurant features Calvin Wumbaya

Singer/songwriter Calvin Wumbaya, once a lawyer, now a nomadic explorer of perspective, has been a performing artist for four years professionally at various places in India, primarily performing acoustic sets with associate musicians as part of Woody Accouche Project.

Having explored various facets of the performing arts through dance musical theater Productions such as "Noah`s Ark", "Fiddler on The Roof" and "Hair" the young artist settled his sight on music and travel as a full time career. He has since performed at various cities across India including Goa, Ladakh, Pondicherry, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and of course Delhi, his hometown.

His Solo repertoire includes his acoustic guitar and vocals, lately enhanced by the use of the mouth organ to explore his folk and reggae influences.

Calvin explores and covers various genres of music such as folk, funk, soul, alternative, grunge and reggae. The Singer/ songwriter has lately been working on his Reggae Folkrock Album under the band name Woody Accouche Project.

He proclaims live performances as his primary passion, yet spends his time partly teaching music as a performing art and primarily doing live shows as often as he can. His future projects in the pipeline include compositions of new blends of folk and grunge.

We welcome back Sindhi Sarangi maestro Lakha Khan, accompanied by his son Dane Khan on dholak for a special pre-tour concert in Delhi as they embark on their second US Tour this October. The tour supports the launch of his new album "Lakha Khan: Live in Nashville". The album features a live recording from his debut US tour in 2013, with renditions of popular folk classics such as Kesariya Balam and Mast Qalandar, Sufi kalaams by Ghulam Farid and Bulleh Shah, Kabir bhajans and classical ragas.
